July 1 Willie Dixon (born July 1, 1915) was a blues musician and prolific composer who was a major figure in the development of Chicago blues. He penned hits like “Hoochie Coochie Man,” “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” and “You Can’t Judge a Book by the Cover.” His songs were recorded by blues and rock artists such as Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones.
