Baden Forest

Object Details

Luce Center Label
Delicate lines and flecks of color represent the wine-producing landscape of Baden, Austria, in Baden Forest. Joel Philip Myers applied threadlike glass canes to the surface of the blown form to produce the small-scale, linear drawings around the vessel.
Luce Object Quote
"It was natural that the work produced in Austria should be inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Baden. The neatly patterned vineyards appearing to fit into a master jig-saw puzzle design, and the grapevines themselves touched me at once . . ." Joel Philip Myers, 1977
