Cautivo de la Virgen de la Merced

Object Details

Luce Center Label
The Virgin of Mercy protects all people as equals. This elegantly carved santo of a prisoner kneeling in prayer represents one of her devotees. His small size, offset by wide eyes and disproportionately large hands, underscores his humanity and devotion to the Virgin.
