Mail ballot sheet

Object Details

Description
Material related to voting by mail during the 2020 US election cycle (primary, general, and special elections) included in this packet are an unused mail-in/absentee ballot, instruction sheet, return envelope and secrecy sleeve for the ballot for official election mail in Washington, DC. See also related material in packet in NPM object numbers 2022.2019.1.1-.5.
The District of Columbia automatically sent mail-in ballots to all 518,000 active registered voters in the 2020 general election. A government audit later revealed that more than 11% of the ballots sent out were returned undeliverable, most of them in Wards 2 and 8. This ballot was sent to a voter in Ward 1, which includes the neighborhoods of Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Pleasant Plains, and LeDroit Park.
