34c Flag single

Object Details

Description
The Postal Service issued a 34-cent United We Stand definitive stamp on October 24, 2001, in Washington, DC. The stamp, designed by Terrence W. McCaffrey, was reissued in January of 2002.
The United States flag is one of the most recognized symbols of freedom in the world. The United We Stand stamp features a stirring image of "Old Glory" with the words "United We Stand" across the bottom. The stamp was a fitting tribute to the invigorated patriotic spirit of our nation to unite in purpose, pride, and determination following the tragic events on September 11, 2001.
The stamp was issued in a self-adhesive convertible booklet of twenty, (with 2.25 billion stamps printed by the Banknote Corporation of America Inc. in the offset/microprint process), and a self-adhesive coil of 100 (4.7 billion stamps printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in the gravure process).
