- A 20-cent commemorative stamp honoring Horace Moses, founder of Junior Achievement, Inc., was issued August 6, 1984, in Bloomington, Indiana. The First Day of Issue ceremony was held on the University of Indiana campus during the annual Junior Achievement, Inc., convention. The stamp was designed by Dennis Lyall of Norwalk, Connecticut, and modeled by Frank J. Waslick,
- Junior Achievement, Inc., was founded in 1919 by Horace Moses, then president of Strathmore Paper Company. From its inception until 1971, Junior Achievement targeted high school students, providing practical training and experience in running small-scale businesses of their own. Adult volunteers from business, labor, and government counseled the students. In 1971, Junior Achievement, Inc., broadened its programs to include elementary- through college-age students. At the time that the stamp was issued, membership in Junior Achievement exceeded 200,000 students.
- The stamp was printed in the intaglio process, with fifty stamps per pane.
