- This vase shaped majolica container has a curved spout and is decorated with a colorful circular floral design. Inside the design is the text "SYR RUBI IDAEIā in black. The jar would have contained a syrup of rubus idaeus (raspberry), which was used as a tonic, diuretic, or diaphoretic.
