Book, A First Course in Algebra

Object Details

Description
Webster Wells (1861-1916) did his undergraduate work at MIT and then joined the faculty there. During his career, he wrote a series of textbooks on topics ranging from arithmetic to algebra to geometry to trigonometry. He also prepared a set of logarithm tables that sold well.
This 1908 textbook on algebra includes four color plates that illustrate the graphing of functions. A mark inside the front cover reads; Samuel Myer Jr. (/) 159 W 22 St. (/) New York () City. It has scattered annotations, most of which seem to mark a problem to be solved.
