Description
The “AF” inscription on the lid of this pocket watch refers to Abraham Flexner (1866-1959), a Jewish-American physician and educator who, along with Louis Bamberger (1855–1944) and Caroline Bamberger Fuld (1864-1944), established the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. Another inscription reads “Dr. Abraham Flexner from Mrs. Felix Fuld and Louis Bamberger November 13, 1936.”
