- This folder contains the “Manual of Directions for Giving and Scoring the Dearborn Group Tests of Intelligence” (Series II: Revised Edition, General Examinations C and D for Grades IV to XII). It was published by the J.B. Lippincott Company and was copyrighted in 1920 and 1922. The front and back cover of the twenty page booklet include advertisements for Worcester’s Dictionaries and Professional Reading for the Teacher. Compare to object 316371.07.02. This document also provided detailed directions for the examiner, including scripts for the test proctor, and directions for scoring the general examinations. Moreover, it provides information on the interpretation of intelligence quotients, grade comparisons, and standards for the revised edition.
- The folder also contains five sheets on onion paper that are titled “Norms for the Separate Tests of Dearborn General Examinations C and D.” These sheets are dated 2.23.33. Handwritten in pencil on the bottom are the words “from W.F. Dearborn.” Thus, this collection would be useful to anybody interested in detailed information about how mental testing experts use data to create norms and standards by which to evaluate all test takers.
