- Description
- This model has three columns of round white plastic keys with nine keys in each column. Key stems on the “9” keys are bent forward. The three wheels at the front are covered with white tape which is marked with numbers. Each is numbered in black from 0 to 9 on the left side of part of one edge and in red (for negative numbers) from 9 to 0 on the right side. There is a handle on the right side. The model has no case.
- A red paper tag attached to the machine reads: PATENT DEPT. (/) #178. It was model #178 in the collection of the Patent Division of Burroughs Corporation. A metal tag attached to the back of the object reads: A3307-2.
- This model is associated with Burroughs Adding Machine Company inventor Arthur Fettig. Fettig filed patents that were assigned to Burroughs between 1936 and 1960. The style of the keys in this model resembles machines built by Burroughs before 1950.
