- Boxing card with image of Jake LaMotta on the front of the card. LaMotta's short biography and boxing title are printed on the back of the card. Part of the 72 card set, "Hit Parade Of Champions" issued in 1951 by the Berk Ross Inc. Card No. 3-12.
- Description
- Giacobbe Jake LaMotta (1922-2017) was an American professional boxer. Between 1941-1954 The Bronx Bull won 83 bouts, 30 by knock out, with 19 losses and four draws, becoming middleweight champion of the world from June 16, 1949 – February 14, 1951. Later in his career, the fighter moved to the light heavyweight class.
- After boxing, LaMotta owned a bar, acted and did stand up comedy. In 1960 he admitted to fixing a fight in 1947 due to mob influence. In 1980, Director Martin Scorsese adapted the oft-troubled boxer's 1970 autobiography Raging Bull into a feature film.
