- This Leroy Ellis basketball card is number 34 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 NBA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Philadelphia 76ers center The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Leroy came to the 76ers in a trade involving Bill Bridges,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
- Ellis was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers before playing for the Baltimore Bullets and Portland Trail Blazers. He won an NBA championship after returning to the Lakers for the 1971-1972 season. That Lakers team set a then-NBA record for wins in a season with 69 victories. The next season (1972-73), Ellis played for the 76ers. That season the 76ers set an NBA record of 73 losses.
