Don Adams Basketball Card

Object Details

Description
This Don Adams basketball card is number 77 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 National Basketball Association (NBA) season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Atlanta Hawks forward on a yellow background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Don can swing from frontcourt to backcourt,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
Adams played in the NBA for seven years as a member of the San Diego/Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, and the Detroit Pistons. Adams also spent parts of the 1975 and 1976 seasons with American Basketball Association's Spirits of St. Louis. Throughout his career Adams feuded with coaches and management over conditioning and salary negotiations.
