Kansas City Scouts Pennant

Object Details

Description
Pennant for the National Hockey League team, the Kansas City Scouts. The Scouts joined the NHL in 1974 as an expansion team. They were named after the famous statue The Scout, by Cyrus E. Dallin, which stands in the city's Penn Valley Park. The statue also served as the team's logo.
After two unsuccessful seasons, the team moved to Denver to become the Colorado Rockies, who would relocate again, becoming the New Jersey Devils in 1982.
