Rock, Pretty Baby

Object Details

Description
Original lobby card for the 1956 motion picture, Rock, Pretty Baby. Richard Bartlett directed this musical comedy about teenage musicians competing in a contest with the hopes of making it big one day. Rock, Pretty Baby stars Sil Mineo, John Saxon, and Luana Patten. This card depicts Jimmy Daley's band happily playing for Joan Wright and his father.

Lobby cards were once a popular form of advertisement for motion pictures. The publicity departments of Hollywood studios created cards featuring striking images of their latest films and delivered sets to theatres across the country. Lobby cards were created to entice future audiences and increase ticket sales.
