Framed flowers from Fort Sumter flag raising

Description (Brief)
Framed flowers, part of a bouquet attached to the American national flag raised over Fort Sumter by Brevet Major General Robert Anderson on April 14th, 1865. The small wreath of flowers is arranged around the phrase "Ft. Sumter / April 14, 1865" written in ink on a piece of paper in an oval-cut matte, covered in a glass and wood frame. A label on the frame is printed with "R, No. 10". This object is part of the General Edward D. Townsend Collection of relics of the War of 1812, Mexican War, and Civil War. Townsend was the principal executive officer of the War Department during the American Civil War.
