- Description
- Unequal-arm beam balance with two suspension clevises fitted with swivel hooks mounted near its wide end, the upper for hanging the balance and the lower for holding the load. Longer, narrow arm has small hole at end and is graduated with two scales, one side stamped 2, 5, 10 and every increment of five thereafter subdivided to fourths and the other side stamped 10, 20 and every increment of 20 thereafter subdivided to tenths. Both sides of short arm struck incuse "I.EDWARDS / MAKER / NEW.YORK", all in roman letters. Missing counterweight or -poise.
