- Bob Gibson was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.
- Robert Bob Gibson (1935-2020) pitched for Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals from 1959-1975. One of the premier pitchers of his generation, Gibson compiled a lifetime 251-174 record, with a 2.91 earned run average, and 3,117 strikeouts.
- A nine-time All-Star, Gibson won two National League Cy Young Awards (1968, 1970,) and in 1968 was named the NL's Most Valuable Player. Known for aggressive and intimidating play, Gibson was also as stellar defender, accumulating nine Gold Gloves.
- The career Cardinal was on two World Series championship clubs (1964, 1967.) The Cardinals have retired Gibson's number 45, and in 1981 the pitcher was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
