Description
This Phil Jackson basketball card is number 71 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 NBA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the New York Knicks forward. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “They Call him ‘Action’ Jackson,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.
Phil Jackson won two NBA championships as a member of the New York Knicks in 1970 and 1973. He went on to become one of the greatest coaches in NBA history, winning a record 11 NBA championships as a coach, six with the Chicago Bulls and five with the Los Angeles Lakers. His 13 total championships is also an NBA record, as is his .704 winning percentage. Jackson was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.
