Description
Hand-painted Regimental flag of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment used in the movie "Glory. This is the first film to illustrate the involvement of African American soldiers in the Civil War. The movie follows the story of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, the first African American Union regiment organized in the North during the Civil War, and culminates in the Battle at Fort Wagner. Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, and Cary Elwes star in this film.
