Punto In Aria Needle Lace Cover

Description
Punto in Aria needle lace cover with linen squares with inserted squares of needlepoint and edged with needlepoint lace, possibly from the early 17th century. Fine quality. At least two squares have been replaced. See Levey, Lace, A History, plate 68 for a similar specimen.
