- The donor, the Eder Instrument Co. of Chicago, termed this a Cameron flexible gastroscope. The reference is to the William J. Cameron who established the Cameron Surgical Specialty Co. in Chicago in 1915. When Rudolph Schindler moved to Chicago in 1934, he worked closely with Cameron.
