- Claude Osteen was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.
- Osteen was a pitcher for the Cincinatti Reds (1957, 1959-61,) Washington Senators (1961-64,) Los Angeles Dodgers (1965-73,) Houston Astros (1974,) St. Louis Cardinals (1974,) and Chicago White Sox (1975.)
- A three time All-Star, Osteen won a World Series with the Dodgers in 1965. After retirement, he served as a pitching coach for a number of teams.
