- Description
- This is one of six models designed by Walter Ludwig of Breslau on the suggestion of Felix Klein and with the participation of Frederick Schilling. It sold from 1902. Four models in the series show space curves of third order drawn on cylinders of various forms. All are plastic (celluloid) with metal frames. In this, the fourth of the four, the cross section of the cylinder is a parabola, making it a parabolic cylinder. The single curve drawn on the surface is a cubic parabola. The remnant of a paper tag on the base read: [. . .]rie Nr. 4 (/) [. . .] Schilling [. . .].
