Echelon Diffraction Grating

Description
This echelon diffraction grating came with the Adam Hilger, Ltd., Constant Deviation Spectrometer in the collection. The inscriptions read “ADAM HILGER LTD / LONDON, ENGLAND” and “No OF PLATES = 12 / WIDTH OF STEP 1 M/M / THICKNESS = 4.70 MM.” The form was designed by the American physicist, Albert A. Michelson, and introduced in 1898.
