First Radar Echos From The Moon

Description
Photograph representing the first radar echoes received from the moon using the Naval Research Laboratory 50-foot radio telescope at wavelengths as short as 10 centimeters and pulse lengths as short as 1/2,000,000th of a second. This work showed that the distance from the earth to the moon is 384,400.2 plus or minus 1.1 kilometers.
