American Fife

Description (Brief)

This fife was made by an unknown maker in the United States, from 1878 to 1882. It is a fife in the key of C, made of nickel-plated brass, and has raised finger holes.

John Howard Foote (1833-1896) was a musical instrument dealer with shops in New York City and Chicago. This fife was sold as an American Fife (#7196).
