Baltimore No. 10 press

Object Details

Description (Brief)
This self-inking lever press with original box was made by the Baumgarten company of Baltimore, after 1890. The press is cast in platen back, reading “BALTIMORE.” Its roller is missing. The press has a height of 9 inches a width of 7 inches and a length of 13 inches. The chase measures 2.5 inches by 4 inches.
The Baumgarten company produced a line of presses exactly parallel to those of another Baltimore press maker, the Dorman company, but used the name Baltimore instead of Baltimorean, and made minor changes in the castings.
Donated by Alan Darby, 1992.
