- The sheen on this modern woman's wrapper, while reminiscent of northern Nigeria's pounded indigo cloth, is created with an imported metallic-coated thread known by the trade name Lurex. Narrow stripes of Lurex grew to whole cloths as the influx of money from Nigeria's oil boom increased.
