- Description
- This is an Alpha Kappa Alpha conference name tag belonging to Etta Moten Barnett. It consists of a paper card inside a plastic sleeve. The paper card has black text across the top margin that reads “ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. / 56th Central Regional Conference / Evansville, Indiana April 9-12, 1992.” In the center of the card is large black text that reads “ETTA MOTEN BARNETT / THETA OMEGA.” On the proper left side of the card is a hexagonal logo divided into six sections. Each section has a symbol. From the top clockwise the symbols are: a caduceus, a dollar sign, unclear, a painter’s pallet and brush, a globe, unclear. In the center of the hexagon is a section of illegible text. The back of the name tag originally had fasteners for the ends of two strings to hang the tag, but the strings have been removed. The clear plastic sleeve is severely yellowed.
