Portrait of a Youth

Object Details

Description
A mimeograph reproduction of Portrait of a Youth, by Harold Collins for the Committee for the Negro in the Arts, Art Workshop Folio. Printed in black ink on white paper, it is a reproduction of a charcoal drawn portrait of a teenage boy. The boy’s head and neck are sketched in detail while his shoulders and proper left arm are loosely sketched. The boy is directly facing the viewer. He is shown from the chest up wearing a light tone crew neck shirt. His proper left hand is curled under his jaw. The boy’s closely cropped hair is parted on the proper left side and he is looking at the viewer with a serious expression on his face. The artist signature and date, [H. COLLINS ‘52], is written at the bottom right just below the boy’s arm. The verso is blank.
