Object Details

Description
A black-and-white gelatin silver print photograph depicting a man performing salat, the ritual prayer of Muslims. The man is shown kneeling on a prayer rug inside a large, otherwise empty room. He faces the right side of the image with his eyes closed and hands raised in supplication. He wears a light-colored skullcap and long tunic, his sandals on the floor behind his bare feet. A dark doorway and a few steps are set into the wall behind him. The photograph is set in matte white backing, with a printed white gallery label on the reverse.
