- This cape coat was worn by Max Julien in the 1973 film The Mack. The Mack was directed by Michael Campus and tells the story of a pimp, Goldie Mickens, who grows an underworld empire in Oakland, California. One of the most influential films of the blaxploitation era, the film starred Julien as Goldie Mickens and Richard Pryor as Slim.
- Description
- A brown leather and snakeskin cape coat worn by Max Julien as the character John "Goldie" Mickens in the 1973 film The Mack. The cape coat is brown throughout with snakeskin accents. At the neck, a large collar, edged in snakeskin, meets at a large round button. A second large round button is slightly below the first. The cape coat opens at the middle. On either side, at the hip, there is a vertical strip of snakeskin. The back of the cape coat has a large horizontal strip of snakeskin at the lower back.
