- Description
- This is a black and white photograph mounted on a card of a man in a Civil War uniform holding a rifle. Standing at attention, the man wears an open, knee-length coat. The coat has an attached cape that reaches to the elbows. Under the coat is is a four button frock jacket, buttoned at the top two buttons. A light colored shirt is visible beneath it. He wears a military kepi on his head and holds a rifle, with fixed bayonet, vertically at his right side. The photograph is mounted on cardstock. Below the photograph is the imprint of the photographer "Gutekunst." There are two small round water stains below the imprint. On the reverse is a logo for Gutekunst's studio that read "F. Gutekunst/ 1700 N. Broad St./ Phila, PA/ Branch/ of/ 712 Arch St."
