Merritt wears dark, thick rimmed glasses and looks into the camera. In the lower left quadrant of the image is a mushroom cloud with black text inside [BLACK/MAJOR/BLAST/U.S. ARMY]. The image is bordered in white and is on a black background. At the top fourth, is the magazine title [URBAN/MAGAZINE]. To the right of the magazine title is a black and white illustration of an owl with black text below ["WE PRINT NEWS/NOT HISTORY"]. The owl is contained within a white rectangle. Along the bottom, in white, is the date and price [March 1969 25 ¢].
