Physical Description
Bronze five point star with raised center star in center of medal; red silk ribbon with blue center stripe surrounded by two thin white stripes; Reverse: raised letter text and engraved inscription; medal bar ribbon; lapel pin.
Summary
The Bronze Star was authorized on February 4, 1944 and retroactive to December 7, 1941. This medal is awarded to individuals of the armed forces for heroism in combat not involving aerial flight or for meritorious service.
