Object Details
- Summary
- This glove is from a developmental, full pressure suit that was part of a series of pressure suits developed by B.F. Goodrich in the early and middle 1950s. The advanced features of this suit included the ability of the wearer to walk erect and sit while pressurized. This feature was developed as earlier suits had a tendency to open a gusset zipper while seated in an aircraft, and this was difficult to close. Another feature was the zippered sizing adjustments and a bayonet-type helmet/neck disconnect.
- The US Navy, Naval Air Material Center transferred this glove to the National Air and Space Museum in 1956.
