Detached bifolio from a dispersed copy of the Shahnama (Book of kings) by Firdawsi; recto: left-hand half of a double-page composition with facing folio (S1986.188.1), A royal hunt; verso: blank; one of a group of twenty-seven folios.
Border: The painting is set in a gold and blue inner frame and an outer frame with floral and geometric motifs mounted on paperboard.
