- The photographs, taken by Robert A. Bartlett, document work completed during the Greenland Expedition of 1937, documenting collecting done for the department of invertebrate zoology of the Smithsonian. Subject matter covers participants in collecting specimens on land and bays, working on the deck of the sailing vessel, icebergs seen from deck, participants preparing egg specimens, detail images of flowers in field; series of images of participants and crew pulling in fishing nets; and collected walrus. Indicates some photographs document Melville Bay [Melville Bugt].
