Above the title, centered on the "O," is the phrase, "A NOVEL BY NICHOLSON BAKER," in yellow and pink, read vertically. Front cover leaf gives a short summary of the book. Printed on the spine, at the top, is the author's name in pink overlaying the title in gray and at the bottom is the Random House colophon. The back cover shows several quotes of praise for other books by the same author. Back cover leaf includes the phrase "ABOUT THE AUTHOR," followed by a short paragraph on the author's life.
