Study for The Mortician

Object Details

Catalogue Status
Research in Progress
Description
Study for an illustration, possibly for a book. At center, a standing figure facing frontally with hands clasped in front. The figure wears a top and a suit, both in brown. The figure’s face resembles a skull. At the figure’s feet, at right, a child faces the figure, and slightly to the left. The child is wearing a gray dress with red socks that match the child’s long hair, pulled back with a black bow. The child rolls a hula hoop, which can be seen at left. The scene is set against a black, blue, and brown background.
