- Description
- View of a fountain within the formal gardens at Versailles. The fountain within a circular basin features sculptural group of dolphins and putti on swans or long-necked birds. A path beyond framed by rows of smaller fountains and potted plants with bosquets (groves) on either side. Another large fountain and basin in the background with a view of the palace beyond. Figures (courtiers) throughout the grounds. The plate is titled and signed.
