- Description
- Chimneypiece Design with over-mantle mirror and carved paneling. The chimneypice has scrolls on the side that split into leaves; the center features a scallop detail. The top of the frame of the mirror has a female mascaron in a cartouche, surrounded by scrolls and garlands of flowers. The panels to the side and above feature scrolls and garlands; the left also has a trophy with musical instruments, while the right panel has an elaborated scroll design. At the bottom of the plate is a cross section of the "Plan du Chambranle / et de la tablette" as well as a scale of four French feet ("4 pieds"). The plate is numbered but not signed.
