Alpine Landscape

Object Details

Catalogue Status
Research in Progress
Description
Landscape study showing a view amid the alps of Switzerland or northern Italy. In the foreground, a nearby grassy slope with a grove of conifer trees at left descends into a deep mountain valley. Across the valley in the middle distance, the opposing mountainside is rugged and steep and rendered in shades of grey and brown. This mountain descends to the left, where another mountain range is visible in the background. Above, hazy, low-hanging clouds obscure an otherwise blue sky.
