- Description
- Landscape sketch showing a view of the volcanoes Chimborazo and Carihuairazo from the city of Riobamba, Ecuador. In the foreground, a house is nestled among green vegetation at right while other foliage and terrain is loosely rendered at left. The middle distance is an indistinct expanse of brown terrain. In the background at center, the snow-capped Chimborazo looms over the landscape as its rugged peak is crowned in a bank of clouds. In the distance at right, the similarly snow-capped volcano known as Carihuairazo is prominently visible. The sky above is a rich, saturated shade of greenish blue.
