- Description
- Landscape study of a tall cliff face in the Mountains of Edom near Petra, in present-day Jordan. This bulging, rocking prominence dominates the composition at center and is characterized by its sheer cliffs at right and center. Several gullies, pinnacles, and rock strata are variously rendered thoughout the cliffs. Possible architectural carvings are visible at the base of the cliffs, at center.
