Mountains and Ridges, Jamaica

Object Details

Catalogue Status
Research in Progress
Description
Landscape sketch showing an elevated view of rugged mountains in Jamaica that extend to a distant horizon. In the foreground, a nearby hill at left descends towards the center, where it meets another, shorter prominence at right. Tall, jagged mountains stretch from the middle distance to the horizon, positioned near the composition's upper margin.
Verso: Partial landscape sketch of a palm tree and part of a sunset, hastily drawn. Scene appears to be cutoff at right, and is likely part of a panorama.
