- Description
- Landscape sketch showing an oblique view of the Aletsch Glacier near Belalp, Switzerland, and the surrounding mountain ridges. At center, the rocky ridge upon which the artist stands extends directly into the distance. At right, the undulating, icy furrows of the slowly flowing glacier are rendered in white gouache. A nearby snowfield, or possibly another glacier, is visible at left. In the background at left and right, two rugged mountain peaks are shown.
