- Description
- Landscape study showing a view of the sun cresting the top of a mountain ridge in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. In the middle distance and loosely rendered, a rocky and rugged alpine ridge creates a jagged horizon that stretches across the composition. Snow or ice blankets the mountains at left. Above, the sun peaks over the top of the ridge, sending beams of light across the landscape and illuminated the tallest peaks at right.
